Former Westlife star Nicky Byrne will make his BBC Radio Ulster presenting debut this weekend as he fills in for his old friend Gerry Kelly.
Nicky, who last year took part in the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, will guest present on Gerry’s Saturday afternoon programme on September 21.
Over the 90-minute programme, Nicky will be inviting some celebrity friends along for a chat, including Moya Brennan from Clannad, playing plenty of great music and inviting listeners to get in touch with him.
Nicky says: “I’ve always enjoyed radio and this was another big opportunity to present. Gerry Kelly has always been good to Westlife and I jumped at the chance of stepping in for him for the day. Westlife had a fantastic relationship with Northern Ireland and I’ve great memories of visiting the Odyssey many times, so it’s good to get on the local airwaves and if there are still any Westlife fans out there, call in and we’ll have a laugh.” Continue reading »
